Oris was founded in 1904 by Paul Cattin and Georg Christian, who opened a manufacture with 24 watchmakers. They both came from Le Locle in the Jura Mountains in Switzerland, which in June 2009 was inscribed, together with the nearby town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This fact is related to the great contribution of cities to the development of Swiss and world watchmaking. Very fast development of the company, new branches, among others in Waldenburg or Hoelstein, employed a total of over 300 people and were the largest enterprises in the region.Since 1982, the company has become a private manufactory managed in a modern way. In 1985, Oris focused its strategy on producing only mechanical watches. Today, the strategy remains the same, making Oris firmly rooted in the history of Swiss watchmaking.
Oris watches are Swiss-made watches with a unique design. The glass case back of the Oris watch allows you to admire the beauty of the open mechanism with the striking balance and the distinctive red rotor. Oris are watches for enthusiasts of mechanical timepieces looking for real values and one glance at the back of the watch is enough to see that Oris is a leader in the production of mechanical watches.
Orisa collections are designed to meet the needs of customers in the four worlds of Orisa: motorsport, diving, aviation and culture. Oris watches are as popular as formula one stars, divers, jazz musicians, pilots and Hollywood stars (Oris watches have starred in such films as Constantine, Jurasicc Park III, among others).
